It was a beautiful normal day in the mountains where my dog Kodiak and I live. So I decided to go for a hike with Kodiak. Like I said, it was a beautiful normal day. Kodiak and I were walking on a path through the woods. There was a little stream beside the path and Kodiak jumped in and was playing in the water. The sun was shining while a cool breeze was in the air. A perfect day for a hike.

I sat down on an old log and watched Kodiak play in the water, just like we've done many times before. We played around in the woods for awhile, went on a short hike, and headed home.

Later that day or evening, back at our cabin, I had a strange feeling that something happened to us this day. I kept getting this feeling, or thought, of a little person laughing at me.

That night as I was trying to go to sleep, I couldn't get this vision or thought of a little person out of my head. THe next morning as I awoke the same thoughts were there, but more detailed. Little flashes of things appearing to me, like meeting a little, not a small person, but half inch tall person, and a little rock door, houses, buildings, and people with names I'd never heard before.

I thought to myself, "what's happenning to me? I'm losing my mind. I couldn't have met a half inch person, there's no such thing." By this time I was getting scared. The thoughts wouldn't go away. The next few days or weeks went by, and these thoughts consumed my mind. They were becoming more and more clear.

What was appearing to me was that Kodiak and I had met this little person named Dybol, who shrunk us down to his size and invited us into his world, called the "Land of Phann".

I'm not asking anyone to beleive this; I'm just trying the best way I can, to explain it, and how my artwork began.

I really don't know how long it was before the visions of the "Land of Phann" started appearing to me. I had no idea what I was trying to do, it was like something was guiding me to start creating what I was seeing.

This might sound strange, but its true, the way it happens. When a vison appears to me to create, it's like instant; I see it but I don't, it's like their in a fog or a cloudy state, in my mind.

As I start creating what I see, it's like they sort of tell me what to do, like they have a life of their own, and they build themselves through me. I said this would sound strange but again - it's true.

As I started creating these miniature sculptures as I call them now, the writings of the "Land of Ohann" came to me. I would write, really without thinking of what I was doing, it was like my dog Kodiak was in my mind, telling me what to write. So came the writings of the "Land of Phann" as told by Harry and Kodiak. To this day I still beleive Kodiak was more than a dog.

It can take anywhere from three to six months, even a year, to create one sculpture, depending on the detail of it.

I've spent many years creating my artwork. Through the years people have asked me, if I imagined all of this?

If I say that Kodiak and I met a half inch person named Dybol, who shrunk us down to his size, and showed us his land, and told me what I would do the rest of my life, you might think I'm crazy. But,.... If I said I made all of this up, that I imagined it all, "I" would be a liar.

Please enjoy the "Land of Phann"
and my other creations.
